The third night we saw Northern Lights there was a strong, large
feature that persisted for maybe 30 minutes before fading. While it had much the
same shape when it was strongest, there were lots of changes in detail, seen in
the images below. The bluish background in first two vs blackish in latter
two is processing differences. This feature had a long “tail” that extended from
upper left for a distance 3-4 times greater than what is captured in Lars’
images. The dark gray horizontal streaks are clouds.
